Turning off HTML in Outlook Express

*** This page is no-longer relevant since the 'new' autism-uk mailing list converts HTML back into plain text ***

HTML-email has become a new trend, unfortunately it has many insurities when combined with Microsoft's email programs. Since March 31st 2000 HTML email has been banned on autism-uk and all messages sent using in HTML are dropped before they get to the list. In order to send messages to the list you therefore need to turn off HTML and I would advise everyone send all their emails in plain text, it may not be as pritty as HTML, but you will be safe from most email transmitted virues.

Start Outlook Express and Select Options from the Tools Menu.

This is the Options dialouge box, click the 'Send' tab, and then select the Plain Text button, as indicated.

Click 'Apply' then 'OK'. All messages you now send will be in plain text.
